Best purchase of the day: Styx box set for $20
It has Paradise Theater, Kilroy Was Here, 20th Century Masters, Pieces of Eight, and The Grand Illusion.
Also, it turns out that my local Best Buy actually is phasing out CD’s  and a result many of them are cheeeeeeeeeeeap.
But this also means I am reduced to two record stores now, even though Lincoln has over 300,000 (I include the undocumented when I say this) people in it. I should tell you that there are actually three record stores here in Lincoln, but the other one is overpriced and not worth mentioning at all ever again.
This is sadtastic because now I will have to order from a kajillion different websites and probably start using stupid Paypal…. but I digress.
Also, my face and my room!

Song of the Day

That new Daft Punk album is out today and it wouldn’t be worth mentioning except that it has been the most hyped album since Jesus Christ put out his synthpop record. It was on the cover of Rolling Stone, NME, and Good Housekeeping (probably). It sounds like a bunch of little kids dicking around with a Casio keyboard. Too much time designing helmets, not enough time writing music that people actually wanna listen to.

So, we are taking the initiative to start hyping an album coming out this year that at least stands a chance of being good. Even if it’s just Brendan farting into a tuba (which it might be!), the new Lawrence Arms will still straight up crush this Daft Punk horseshit. LET’S ALL START HYPING IT OUT OF OUR ASSES UNTIL WE SOUND LIKE RABID MORONS WITH NO DISCERNABLE TASTE IN MUSIC.

Here’s some classing Larry Arms to tickle your musical erogenous zones.

Styx - Too Much Time On My Hands

I got dozens of friends and the fun never ends
That is, as long as I’m buying

Fun fact: When I was a toddler, my neighbor who used to babysit used to sing Styx songs to me. He’s also the person that got me into The Clash and Queen.

Leading Men Age, Leading Women Don’t | Vulture

There are more charts if you click through.

I’m so glad this info graphic is going around, because so many people don’t realize how ageism and misogyny play hand in hand and how the sexualization of young girls play into this.

Santoine: This is an important graph I felt you all should see and understand

Things parents forget to tell their children:

nauseousness:

  • Bodies are hairy. No matter the gender, your face will have hair and that is more than okay.
  • Your butthole is going to have some hair too. And maybe your nipples. And your tummy. And where ever else.
  • Stretch marks. Those are a thing. Everyone gets ‘em. If you don’t, you probably don’t have skin.
  • Vaginas smell. Every vagina has a scent. Don’t worry about it! (Unless something seems wrong, then go get it checked out! No need to feel embarrassed or ashamed.)
  • Vaginas come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, flavors. All are beautiful.
  • Penises come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, flavors. All are beautiful.
  • You don’t need to shave anything if you don’t want to. It’s tooootally not mandatory.
  • Sometimes people get butt acne.
  • You can have a vagina and want short hair and think dresses are just the worst.
  • You can have a penis and want long hair and think dresses are just the best.
  • You can wear whatever you want and style your hair however you want.
  • You can even think whatever the hell you want.
  • People might tell you that you are a girl because you have a vagina. People might tell you that you are a boy because you have a penis. People will tell you what your gender is. But in reality, you don’t have to be that gender. You don’t have to be either of those genders.
  • You are what you are and it’s just the worst thing if you try and hide that.

Meg seemed to me like the loneliest person on the show.
SHE DESERVED TO BE LOVED. You have to be pretty damn desperate for friends if you saddle up with somebody who has tortured you repeatedly, used slurs against you, murdered your sibling, killed one of your parents, imprisoned the other and frequently tells you that they want to murder you.

Absolutely accurate.
For all of show’s isolating Cas in the frame as if he’s alienated and alone. I see Meg as far lonelier - and fiercer in the face of that.
And I see the narrative as continually humiliating her for it (post-Gamble, Gamble actually treated Meg with respect. Remember that time the narrative actually supported a statement made by Meg but disregarded by the Winchesters? Yeah, that was Sera Gamble).

Also, we would have had in-text examples of this desire to be ‘loved’ (or at least appreciated) via her relationship with Azazel and Lucifer.

If somebody told me five years ago that at twenty five I would find myself fishing my sister’s fucking disgusting tampons out of my mother’s pipes at five a.m. I would of called them a dirty fekking liar.

For the love Satan, don’t flush your tampons. It’s fucking gross and fucking stupid and NO FUCKING THANK YOU. Fucking twats.

and I’m glad I’m not a plumber, cuz’ EW.
